Greencap Commences Partnership with Reflections as National Risk Management Supporter

02 November 2020

This Asbestos Awareness Month, Greencap is proud to announce its appointment as National Risk Management Supporter of Reflections - a not-for-profit committed to reducing the impact of asbestos on the community.

Asbestos and Hazardous Materials risk management has been a core service of Greencap since its founding in 1984 (as Noel Arnold & Associates), and this exciting partnership will provide opportunities to amplify messaging and assist Reflections in the provision of support, building awareness, and furthering research into the deadly material and its health implications.

Since 2017, Greencap has been an active supporter and partner for the Bernie Banton Foundation (BBF). After over a decade of providing support and advocacy to those whose lives have been forever affected by asbestos-related diseases including mesothelioma, the BBF officially ceased operations in mid-2020 and passed elements of its legacy across to Reflections.

“The partnership between the Bernie Banton Foundation (BBF) and Greencap was an ideal fit. With a people-centric approach, the in-house fundraising and external awareness initiatives were both fruitful and productive.

Any support in the way of funding was extremely welcomed, but a major unquantifiable benefit was the national recognition we gained by partnering with Greencap. We would like to extend a big thank you to all the Greencap team members who freely gave their time to be involved in 'out of hours' fundraising endeavours - it is truly appreciated.

It was a difficult decision to cease operations as a not-for-profit organisation in June 2020, however our board determined that Reflections were a worthy recipient of the BBF’s remaining fiscal assets. Reflections had been our WA-based awareness and support partner since their launch in 2015, and their close alignment with our core principles and structure reassured us that our  24/7 Helpline number (1800 031 731) would be well placed in their capable hands.
Anyone who supported the BBF can be assured that the results of their generosity and endeavours will continue to go towards supporting asbestos awareness and those who are affected by the deadly tentacles of asbestos fibres.”

Karen Banton and Rod Smith from the BBF

Greencap has a dedicated Community Engagement Committee that plans and executes internal and external awareness, fundraising and community-driven initiatives. The team are excited to work with Reflections and to continue to make meaningful impacts on asbestos awareness, the prevention of exposure, and support for sufferers of asbestos-related disease.

“Reflections is very pleased to commence a partnership with Greencap and their people.

Greencap’s mission to make the world safer through the protection of people, property and environment, resonates with Reflections’ vision of 'Lives untouched by asbestos'.

We look forward to journeying together as we reduce the ongoing impact of asbestos on the community. Individually we can do little. Together we can do much.”

Jo Morris, Reflections co-founder and Director
