Risk Communication, Induction and Training

Commonwealth, State and Territory Work, Health and Safety legislation requires employers to consult with employees on issues that may affect their health and safety. In addition, the Code of Practice ‘How to Manage and Control Asbestos in the Workplace’ (Safe Work Australia 2011) specifically requires persons with control of premises to provide information and training to workers, contractors and others who may come into contact with asbestos containing materials (ACM) in a workplace, either directly or indirectly.

Beside the regulatory requirements and standard industry practice to consult with employers, it is good business to keep employees informed through well planned and delivered communication strategies.
