Greencap Response to “Circuit Breaker” Lockdown in SA
In response to an increase in new positive COVID-19 cases in South Australia arising from a cluster in northern Adelaide, the state government has put in place a major “circuit breaker” lockdown in order to prevent a second wave.
This six-day lockdown dictates that only essential businesses will be allowed to open, and individuals will be restricted from leaving their homes for specific reasons, full details on the restrictions are available on the SA Government COVID-19 website.
The Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Stay at Home) Direction 2020 (the Directive) stipulates that essential businesses that are allowed to operate include “organisations that provide urgent services necessary for the health and safety of any person, animal or premises (e.g. plumbing, Centrelink services and Foodbank)”
Under the Directive, Greencap’s NATA Accredited laboratory in Adelaide will be operating with a skeleton staff to respond to emergency works and assist organisations that provide urgent services necessary for the health and safety of any person, animal or premises. The remainder of the Greencap team based in South Australia will be working from home and other scheduled site works will be delayed in light of the Directive.
